hi people :) its finally spring! the weather last week was wonderfully warm and sunny and breezy wheeee! but then on friday it became typical spring weather - or well, typical for binghamton anyways - dreary, gray skies, strong winds and the occasional rain shower.
summer's too hot, winter's too cold, fall is still cold, and spring is rainy. why am i so dissatisfied with the 4 seasons?? i wanna live in a place where its sunny, breezy and with a year-round temperature of like 60-70 degrees. how awesome would that be! :D but well.. such a place would only exist in my dreams, i guess! darn it.
anyway, 2 weeks ago on one of those wonderful sunny days, charlie todd - founder of IMPROV EVERYWHERE - came to campus and conducted the binghamton university mp3 experiment in front of our library :D
you guys might have never ever heard of charlie todd OR improv everywhere.. but you HAVE to have watched youtube videos of his "missions" like frozen grand central (which was carried out in kl too sometime last year i think!), and of course the no-pants subway ride! a link to improv everywhere on youtube:
so, our mp3 experiment is exactly what its named after - all us participants download a pre-recorded mp3 file online, and we gathered in front of the bartle library dressed in either red, green, blue or yellow and at precisely 12.45pm, everyone pressed play on their mp3 players. of course, it wasnt exactly synchronized as some people started late, and some too early. nevertheless, it was a very fun experience! we followed the instructions given through the mp3 file, and it included warm-ups, thumb wars, following people around, high-fiving the people NOT involved, dancing in the fountain.. stuff like that :P we definitely surprised the people who had no idea what was going on and we had a whole crowd of people standing and watching the fun :D

the highlight of the day - the EPIC BATTLE that we had been preparing for! our ammunition was, as you can see.. BALLOONS!

the very dramatic "deaths" that we brave soldiers suffered at the hands of our enemies! :P
in the end though, everyone had to die and we spent a few minutes meditating under the warm sunny sky.. ahhhh :) i would so totally take part in more of his missions any time! wheeee!
thursday night we went to watch alice in wonderland in 3D at loews and it was AWESOME! :D this tim burton adaptation of lewis carroll's classic story stars mia wasikowska as alice, johnny depp as the mad hatter, helena bonham carter as the red queen and anne hathaway as the white queen. great storyline and wonderful acting :) the only part i found slightly annoying was the way the white queen literally danced her way around the entire time. i get that she's the ethereal graceful queen and all but.. the dancing. the hands. the buttered fingers!! o.O i will never look at a butterfinger the same way again hahaha. and who could NOT love the cheshire cat?!
i ♥ johnny depp :)on friday, one of wyman's friends from suny geneseo came to visit him.. part of the tripod haha :P his name's ke and he's a pretty cool guy :) so on saturday we went to the ΝΑΦ house (which really looks SO sketchy from the outside) and of all people.. we met candace there! that was just a :O moment.. like what on earth was she doing there?! she and her twin, lindsey have to be like the most good girls around! "good girls go bad" much? hahaha.
anyway, the party was kinda dead.. i guess with the horrible weather no one really wanted to go out. offers to smoke up and dance were aplenty but like.. eww? no thank you. i actually want to live!
sunday was laundry/study day.. tossed around a frisbee later in the evening and the guys taught me how to actually throw and catch a football the right way this time! i think ive gotten the hang of it but i cant throw very far and catching it HURTS! but the fresh air was very invigorating :D
spring break is coming SOON! march 27-april 4! i have 2 tests in the 2 days before break starts which really sucks but ive already started studying so hopefully i'll do well :)
