oh for more summery days!

it was an beautifully sunny and warm sunday afternoon! what better way to spend our time than by taking a lil walk around binghamton university's very own nature preserve? :))

being one with nature is a good thing y'know? :D

the "we" here means me and sherry!! :))

the very first thing she showed me was this purple flower down below! its honeysuckle! you basically pluck the petals off and suck on the ends where the nectar is. it was really surprisingly sweet :)

okay, so we were actually there coz sherry had to carry out this bio experiment which involved..

watching bumblebees land on flowers! she had to count how many times the bees landed on a patch of flowers - one in the sunlight, one in a sunny/shady area and another in a shaded area. she chose goldenrod, which is this flower below and that bee on it had to be the HUGEST BEE ON EARTH!!! seriously. i was too scared to actually get a close up of it but trust me, it was HUGE!! and scary.

so while she watched bees, i went around snapping pictures of nature in its finest glory! well, almost. its about fall now so the leaves are turning red :D i was sooo happy that the skies were clear and blue and it was sunny and warm today!

after watching bees, we decided to walk along the..

where we took lots of pictures! :P kinda jakun la but hey malaysian rainforests are like.. wet, muddy, leech-infested and green/brown. here its all pretty! i couldnt resist taking pictures!

there were so many different-colored berry bushes. they LOOKED really good but theyre probably poisonous or something!

these are red berries with purple aster growing next to the berry bush!

we thought this might have been poison ivy :S coz its red leaved with reddish stems lol. but luckily it didnt turn out to be anything poisonous :P

we then moved on to the...

where we saw lots of trees on the way. like this one kept losing its leaves everytime the wind blew. signs of winter :(

its so fascinating to see that the leaves have touches of green, yellow AND red!!

voila! our "pond"!! hahahaha! nah just kidding this is just a tiny puddle :P we didnt find the pond so we're gonna go back another time! yayy!

it was really fun just wandering around acting all tourist-y with the cameras and shades :P HAHA! :)

its the weekend! i absolutely adore weekends! :D they have some sort of power over me.. no matter what, the very fact that its the weekend never fails to cheer me up! i wake up on thursday morning thinking "oh its friday tmr!! :DD" and i wake up on friday morning going "THE WEEKEND IS HERE!!"

yup. i know im a lil bit crazy sometimes. but hey, who doesnt love weekends?? time to chill, relax, do whatever you want. its pure bliss! :))

the past two weekends have been pretty busy for me. so im posting a rather delayed post on whats been happening here so far! umm no pictures though sorry :P

right so me and a bunch of my friends decided to go for a partayyyy on our first weekend here! it was an asian-american frat party where all the guys looked the same and all the girls looked like carbon copies of each other. from their hair all the way down to the shoes.

no, im not exaggerating. i wouldve taken pictures coz it was kinda funny but theyd have thought i was some psycho stalker!

long story short, the party wasnt all that happening. but that was probably because we didnt know anyone at the party. the drinks were good though ;) haha!



right, time to introduce my girlfriends here! :)

first off, this is victoria! she's from shanghai and she's a TOTAL SHOPAHOLIC! hahaha. this girl is crazzzeeee. she absolutely loves shopping and she's not worried about money. i wish i could be like that -.- lol. and she loves gory movies. like.. what?! thats nuts. we were actually gonna go watch final destination last night. i was the only one who didnt wanna go! but it wasnt showing so oh well too bad!



this is wenjing! she's from guangzhu in china as well (i think thats how its spelt?) and boy is she ever LOUD. lol. she loves singing, talking and she's really friendly!



these two gorgeous girls here are sherry (on the left) who was born in china but moved to NY at the age of 4-ish so she's almost an ABC. hahaha. she is awesome!! i love her already! hahaha. yet another shopaholic who's super talkative and always up for anything!

the girl next to her is nam sun! we call her smiley coz she's always so bubbly and happy and smiling! she's from korea and i swear she acts almost exactly like the korean girls we watch in korean dramas like in full house/my girl! hahaha! :DD



so we went shopping at oakdale mall during the labor day weekend (3 day weekend YAYY!) oakdale mall in johnson city is like the only actual shopping mall here in binghamton. the next nearest mall is all the way in syracuse. we plan to go there.. some day :D literally EVERY shop was on sale!! i loved itttt so much. but i was a good girl and controlled myself :) i found a totally cute top for ONE DOLLAR. like.. what an awesome find! i was so happpyy! okay ive actually bought quite a lot of stuff already but seriously everything is on a budget :) so im not going crazy spending money like water!

after our shopping trip we were all excitedly getting ready for the party lol!

well the upside is i can say i HAVE attended a frat party.. which is more than what any of the rest can say ;) and this means nic, john, willie, ui tee and so forth. ahaha :) hopefully the next one will be more fun!

last weekend was pretty fun coz we went shopping yet again.. and then in the night we went to get ice-cream at cold stone creamery (which is totally super super yummy by the way!!) and then coffee at starbucks!! then we were so awake due to the sugar rush so we went for this "late nite" thing on campus where we watched the proposal!! :D damn funny please! i looooove that movie!!

last night it was friday night and campus was sooo empty coz lots of people went home to celebrate rosh hashanah (the jewish new year). so yeah, we were intially gonna watch final destination with kelly, eric and soo yun but it wasnt showing so they went to watch sorority row but we decided to take a walk around vestal! thats the part of binghamton that we're in. from our dorm to the university entrance was a 15-minute walk.

so the thing is our uni is located on this road called vestal parkway east, which is basically a LONG straight road, kinda like a highway and theres lots of shopos along the road. so sherry, victoria, smiley and me were just walking along and talking. our mission of the night: hot chocolate!! :) so we ended up at panera's and yes, hot chocolate on a cold night equals happiness :)

we kinda calculated that we walked about 4 miles the whole night. thats like.. WOW. so amazing right! ive done so much walking here but its actually FUN coz the weather is cool and this place just feels so safe! ooh we also kinda just lay down on the grass in one of the fields on campus and watched the stars. which was really peaceful. food for the soul :)

then we came back to my room and... dyed my hair red!!!! with one of those DIY kits hahaha. well theres no big difference -.- theres hints of red but only visible in the sun. i guess these kits arent meant for asian hair. maybe i shouldve gotten a bright coppery red instead of the dark burgundy red. but yeah so now my hair has hints of burgundy which is kinda nice :) success! then we watched the divine secrets of the ya-ya sisterhood!! :DD totally girls night out hahaha.

okay that was kinda a long story but ive definitely had fun so far with these 4 girlfriends of mine :)) here's to many more fun days and nights together! :)

welcome to my little world here at BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY in binghamton, new york!

its not the big apple by any stretch of imagination though. binghamton is a small city/town (i dont know which it is. hmm.. ) with a beautiful scenery of mountains and forests. which is slowly turning from lush green to dusty gold and will soon be gorgeous red!

here are a few pictures of my campus! which i intially thought was HUGE. though after 3 weeks of exploring, im slightly crushed to realize its actually not that big after all.

so ive been having classes for 2 weeks already and im not swamped with assignments yet but there is definitely a need for constant studying throughout the week to keep up with readings, homework and self-reviews of all my classes. yes, i actually DO study :) which is why i dont blog everyday because i dont exactly find much fun in reading about people's everyday schedules -.- especially if they're as monotonous as:

"Today i spent the whole day studying in the library..." and etc.

im kinda shifting off topic. lol. so anyway. i basically study during the week and play over the weekend :)) i will update about my binghamton late nights some other time when i get nice pics :) if i ever do!

when i first arrived in binghamton, i HATED it. but i think that was because i felt so out of my confort zone. first off, my baggage was delayed for like 3 days. 2nd, the room i was in was like devoid of any creature comforts. no fan, no bed sheets, no pillows, no comforter, stuff like that.

now my room has pretty much transformed into my haven :) one day i'll make it nice and neat and pretty and upload a picture of it :D

ohmygosh okay i gotta run now but i promise i will update about my roomie, my friends and my life so far here :)

Pagi itu pagi minggu. Cuaca cukup sejuk sehingga mencapai takat suhu beku. Sebab itu saya tidak mandi pagi sebab air kolah jadi air batu dan air paip tidakmahu keluar sebab beku di dalam batang paip. Pagi itu saya bersarapan dengan keluarga di dalam unggun api kerana tidak tahan sejuk. Selepas itu emak sayamengajak saya menemaninya ke pasar. Tetapi saya tidak mahu. Selepas emakmenikam perut saya berkali-kali dengan garfu barulah saya bersetuju untuk mengikutnya.Kami berjalan sejauh 120 kilometer kerana pasar itu letaknya 128 kilometer dari rumah.

Lagi 8 kilometer nak sampai pasar saya ternampak sebuah lori kontena meluru denganlaju dari arah belakang. Dia melanggar emak saya. Emak saya tercampak ke dalam gaung. Dia menjerit “Adoi!”. Lepas itu emak saya naik semula dan mengejar lori tersebut. Saya pun turut berlari di belakang emaksaya kerana takut emak saya melanggar lori itu pula. Pemandu lori itu nampak kami mengejarnya. Dia pun memecut lebih laju iaitu sama dengan kelajuan cahaya. Kami pula terpaksa mengejar dengan lebih laju iaitu sama dengan dua kali ganda kelajuan cahaya.

Emak saya dapat menerajang tayar depan lori itu. Lori itu terbabas dan melanggar pembahagi jalan lalu bertembung dengan sebuah feri. Feri itu terbelah dua. Penumpang feri itu yang seramai 100 orang semuanya mati. Pemandu feri itu sangat marah. Dia pun bertukar menjadi Ultraman dan memfire pemandu lori. Pemandu lori menekan butang khas di dalam lori dia..lori itu bertukar menjadi robot Transformer. Mereka bergaduh di udara.

Emak saya tidak puas hati. Dia pun terus menyewa sebuah helikopter di Genting Highlands dan terus ke tempat kemalangan. Dia melanggar pemandu feri yang telah bertukar menjadi Ultraman itu. Pemandu feri itu terkejut dan terus bertukar menjadi pemandu feri semula lalu terhempas kejalanraya. Pemandu feri itu pecah. Pemandu lori sangat takut melihat kejadian itu. Dia meminta maaf dari emak saya. Dia menghulurkan tangan ingin bersalam. Tetapi emak saya masih marah. Dia menyendengkan helikopternya dan mengerat tangan pemandu lori itu dengan kipas helikopter. Pemandu lori itu menjerit “Adoi..!” dan jatuh ke bumi. Emak saya menghantar helikopter itu ke Genting Highlands. Bila dia balik ke tempat kejadian, dia terus memukul pemandu lori itu dengan beg tangannya sambil memarahi pemandu lori itu di dalam bahasa Inggeris. Pemandu lori itu tidak dapat menjawab sebab emak saya cakap orang putih. Lalu pemandu lori itu mati.

Tidak lama kemudian kereta polis pun sampai. Dia membuat lapuran ke ibu pejabatnya tentang kemalangan ngeri itu. Semua anggota polis di pejabat polis itu terperanjat lalu mati. Orang ramai mengerumuni tempat kejadian kerana ingin mengetahui apa yang telah terjadi. Polis yang bertugas cuba menyuraikan orang ramai lalu dia menjerit menggunakan pembesar suara. Orang ramai terperanjat dan semuanya mati. Selepas itu emak saya mengajak saya ke pasar untuk mengelak lebih ramai lagi yang akan mati.

Di pasar, emak saya menceritakan kejadian itu kepada penjual daging. Penjual daging dan peniaga-peniaga berhampiran yang mendengar cerita itu semuanya terkejut dan mati. Saya dan emak saya terus berlari balik ke rumah. Kerana terlalu penat sebaik saja sampai di rumah kami pun mati. Itulah kemalangan yang paling ngeri yang pernah saya lihat sebelum saya mati.


HAHAHA. that is the most idiotic essay i have ever read! damn funny please :D

you cant play our broken strings..

i spent like.. more than 8 hours at ou today. which is a bit crazy. but it was quite a productive day :D whee.

reached at like 10am and wandered around checking out stuff that i needed to get for binghamton. then xizaan came and we just walked around the mall :) or erm rather i window-shopped and he had no choice but to come with me :P hahaha.

then we woke justin up and he dragged himself out of bed to join us for lunch at delicious! next to reach was xin and then nat and they joined us for dessert! mm the desserts there are like to-die-for! :)

then it was shopping again! :D we dressed justin up in skinny jeans at topman coz xizaan is trying to convert him to the skinny jeans side. hahaha! and then who was to appear in front of us but nic and zhen hong.. and his date! ;) er i dont know her name, much less who she is, but yeah. nic was being such a lamp post. you get the picture :) so he joined us!

after more shopping the guys kinda got tired and decided to go get movie tickets for..



i totally LOVED this movie!!! :) super funny and super sweet! :) even the guys enjoyed it :D awesome rom-com!

purchases of the day include: a long cardigan from M&S (YAY! ♥), friendship rings from diva!!! (awww ♥), scarves from forever21 which nat and xin bought for me and xizaan!, a pair of ipanema flops which only cost me rm28!!! and err.. laundry nets and a basket from jusco. LOL.

all in all it was a good day :D shopping AND spending time with my best friends :)
